Handyman Electrical in Phoenix, AZ

Ceiling fans, light fixtures, switches, outlets and dimmers. Small electrical jobs done safely.

Ceiling fan with light kit installed on a ceiling

Ceiling fans, light fixtures, switches, outlets and dimmers are the electrical jobs a house needs most often, and none of them should need a full electrician's service call. We replace fans and fixtures, swap dead outlets, add dimmers, and figure out why the bathroom outlets stopped working. The work is done to code and cleaned up after.

Phoenix homes have a lot of ceiling fans, and old ones wobble, hum and quit. We replace them, install new ones where a light fixture used to be, add fan-rated boxes where the existing box isn't strong enough, and install outdoor-rated fans on covered patios. Chandeliers, pendants, vanity lights and porch lights get the same treatment, with the right ladders for tall ceilings and stairwells.

Switches and outlets wear out. We replace worn switches, add dimmers and smart switches, replace loose or discolored outlets, upgrade kitchen and bathroom outlets to GFCI where they should have been, and add USB outlets where you charge things. We also replace doorbells, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and under-cabinet lighting.

What we do and don't do

We keep our electrical work to small repairs and fixture swaps on existing circuits. Anything larger, like panel work, new circuits, rewiring or service upgrades, is handled with our licensed electrical trade partners so it's done by the right license and inspected properly.

Questions

Do I need an electrician to replace a ceiling fan?
Not usually. Replacing a fan or fixture on an existing box is small electrical work we handle, and we'll add a fan-rated box if the existing one isn't strong enough. New circuits and panel work go to our licensed electrical trade partners.
What don't you do?
We keep electrical and plumbing to small repairs and fixture swaps. Panel work, new circuits, water heaters, re-piping, gas lines and sewer work go to our licensed electrical and plumbing trade partners. Roofing, HVAC and pool equipment go to licensed specialists too. When a job crosses that line, we coordinate it so you still have one point of contact.
What's the difference between a handyman and a licensed contractor in Arizona?
In Arizona, anyone can call themselves a handyman, but only a licensed contractor can legally take on a job over $1,000 or work that needs a permit. Licensed contractors are also bonded and answer to the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. Elite Home Repairs is licensed, bonded and insured (ROC #366903), so a repair list over $1,000 or a job that needs a permit is handled legally.
