Shower Retile in Phoenix, AZ

New tile on the shower walls when the base is still good, without remodeling the bathroom.

Arizona ROC #366903 · Licensed, Bonded & Insured

Installer setting large white wall tile

Retiling makes sense when the tile is dated, cracked or loose, but the shower base and the floor around it are still sound. We take the wall tile off, check and replace any wet or soft backer board, put up a waterproof layer, and set new tile and grout.

The base decides the job. If it's cracked or the pan under it is leaking, new wall tile won't stop the problem, and the shower needs to be rebuilt from the floor up. We check that before you commit, so you're paying for the right job.

How it starts

Send a photo of the shower from the doorway and a close-up of the worst tile. Tell us whether the floor outside the shower ever feels damp. Fixed price before we start. Levi runs the job.

Questions

How do I know if my shower needs a retile or a full rebuild?
If the base is solid and the floor around it is dry, a retile usually does it. A cracked base, a soft floor or a leak below the shower means the base needs rebuilding. We check before we quote.
Can you add a niche or a bench while the wall is open?
Yes. A recessed niche for shampoo goes between the studs once the old tile is off, and it's the right time to do it. A bench is a bigger change and depends on the shower's size.
How long is the shower out of use?
Several days: tear-out and backer board, waterproofing, tile, grout, then the grout and caulk cure before water hits them. The quote spells it out.
