Questions
- Can you hang shelves on a block garage wall?
- Yes. Masonry anchors into the block, and the shelves hold what they're rated for. Overhead racks go into the ceiling joists, which is where the weight belongs.
- The door from the garage into the house won't close by itself. Is that a problem?
- Yes. Code wants that door to self-close and latch so a garage fire stays in the garage. It's usually a worn spring hinge or a closer, and it's a quick swap.
