Bifold doors

A bifold hangs from a pivot at the top and a pivot at the bottom, with a roller that runs in the track. The bottom pivot sits in a bracket that gets kicked loose, the top pivot wears, and the two panels sag at the hinge. Resetting the pivots and tightening the hinges fixes most of them. A bifold that won't stay closed needs the aligner clip on the track, a tiny part that's usually just missing. New pivots, rollers and tracks are standard hardware and quick to swap.

Bypass and mirrored doors

Bypass doors slide past each other on rollers hung from a top track, with a guide on the floor keeping the bottoms in line. The rollers wear, the floor guide breaks or goes missing, and the doors jump the track. Mirrored bypass doors are heavy and do this sooner. New rollers and a new guide bring them back. If the track itself is bent, it gets replaced.

Barn doors

Barn doors hang from a rail above the opening. The rail has to go into solid backing, not just drywall, and the door needs a floor guide so it doesn't swing. We install them and fix ones that were hung into drywall alone.

New doors, or no doors

Closet doors that are broken, dated or missing get replaced with new bifolds, bypass doors or a barn door. Some people want them gone instead, for a closet system or an open nook. We take the doors and track out, fill the holes, and patch and paint the opening so it looks like it never had them.
