Deck and Balcony Repair in Phoenix
Boards that split, a railing that moves, a balcony that's soft at the door. Repaired, re-anchored and sealed against the sun.
Arizona ROC #366903 · Licensed, Bonded & Insured
Wood decks and second-floor balconies take Phoenix sun from above and water at every joint. Boards split and cup, railings loosen, and the spot where a balcony meets the house door goes soft. All of it is worth fixing early, because a soft balcony is a safety problem.
Deck boards and framing
Split, cupped or rotted boards get replaced. The framing under them gets checked for rot at the ledger, where the deck meets the house, and at the posts. A rotted ledger is the most common cause of a deck failure and gets replaced with proper flashing. Then the deck gets sealed or stained.
Railings
A railing that moves gets its posts refastened through the framing, not just the decking. Gaps between balusters get closed to a 4-inch limit. Height gets checked against code.
Balconies
A balcony over a living space has a waterproof surface that fails at the door threshold and the edges. Soft spots there mean water got into the framing. The surface gets opened, the framing repaired, and the waterproofing redone. Bigger structural work gets an engineer first.
